About Us
My Story Is Not Unique was born from a simple, powerful realization:
The moments we think isolate us are often the very ones that connect us.
Hosted by Marlenne and Latisha, the podcast creates space for honest stories from underrepresented voices, the stories we don’t always hear amplified, but feel deeply when we do. Through conversation, reflection, and lived experience, each episode invites listeners to recognize themselves in someone else’s truth.
This isn’t about telling perfect stories.
It’s about telling real ones.
Stories shaped by culture, identity, resilience, loss, joy, faith, becoming, and everything in between.

Marlenne’s story does not begin with her but rather with her grandmother who was born in Dominican Republic in 1935. The choices, losses, and resilience of that life shaped generations to come.
Like many people, Marlenne has always felt ordinary but deeply transformed by life and the events that present themselves in our paths.
Marlenne listens for patterns in people, work, and lived experience believing that meaning is found in what we carry forward, not in the milestones that others see we leave behind.
My Story Is Not Unique exists for the stories that do not look extraordinary from the outside but change us completely on the inside. If you ever feel like your life does not fit a box or clean narrative, you are in the right place.
Welcome.

Latisha’s story does not begin with a single moment or achievement. It begins in the spaces between responsibility and becoming in the quiet work of holding others, navigating systems, and learning how to stay soft in places that reward hardness.
Latisha pays attention to what lives beneath the surface: the unspoken dynamics in rooms, the weight people carry without language, the stories that don’t make headlines but change everything internally. She believes meaning isn’t found in titles or milestones, but in how we tend to one another, how we survive complexity, and how we tell the truth when it would be easier not to.
My Story Is Not Unique exists for the lives that don’t follow a script for people whose stories don’t fit a box, but matter deeply nonetheless. If you’ve ever felt between worlds, between versions of yourself, or unsure where your story belongs, you are in the right place.
Welcome.
